This is getting a little out of hand and is taking up a lot of room in the greenhouse. The plant measures 24" high (from the top of the pot) x 23" wide with the massive roots 23" from the back of the plant to the front. The three spikes are nicely budding up so should be a nice show in the next couple of months. My concern is if the roots keep on growing some drastic changes will have to take place in the greenhouse. Sorry about the pic quality but find it difficult to position properly.

This started spiking in August. They take a long time to flower but this looks like it's going to be quite nice. A good 2nd growth looks promising.

Well Ed it looks as if you will have a fantastic display with that plant. I will be looking forward to seeing it in bloom.

Hi Brian. There is a pic of the plant on the Angreacoid section dated Dec. 29th, and thanks for your comments.

Hi Malcolm. Had this plant a number of years and is a regular bloomer. Don't give it any special temps during winter 12c-- 18c ( or warmer if the sun shines!! ) I do however put the plant outside in spring when the temps warm up and give it as much sun as possible together with a fair amount of fertilizer. Disasters can happen when you repot. The best thing to do is just put them in a larger pot - lock, stock and barrel!!
See you at Rixton next Saturday.

Thanks Terry/Brian. It's taken about five years to get to this state but they are not really slow growers. Our local dealer Phoenix Orchids have been selling very nice, clean plants of these for only £15--- needless to say I bought another one. The plant should be ready for flowering in around 2 years. I hope that the plant in the pic lasts until our next show on 14th February.

Today I spotted 3 plants of veitchii in full bloom with 5 flowers on each plant.Looked at the price and a whopping £50 each.I think I might venture back there in a months time when they might be reduced in price by 50%

That is so fabulous. I a completely smitten and must look out for one myself.
It looks so different to anything I currently grow!
I hope it lasts 'til the show for you. It deserves to be seen.
