About 6 weeks ago I received this seedling plant with 10+ blooms but it became stressed and I left just 3 blooms on it to flower. As soon as it flowered I removed the blooms to help the recovery of the odont but this plant has potential

Good luck with brining it back to health Brian. It is a good looking flower, do you have the parentage?

I do know the parentage and this plant is not the best one.It is one of those crosses that one came via a third party and I am reluctant to reveal the parents just in case they are wrong

That looks a good one, Brian. Can't grumble at a spike of 10 flowers of that quality on a seedling.
I must say I have never understood the saying that some Oncidiinae flower themselves to death. The whole idea of a flower on a plant is nature's method for procreation. There is that saying, though, that orchids flower either because they are happy or because it is their dying attempt to pass on their genes. As growers it is up to us to watch the plants like you have done, then do what we think best for the plant. Good luck with this one.
