I think my Dracula erythrochaete has a spike.
I have never seen a Dracula spike before, but this is so different to a leaf growth.
there is a purple tinge to the "growth" and the tip looks like a very fine paint brush.
It will be Joy of joys if it turns out to be a flower spike.
any confirmations, however tentative will be appreciated.
Sanguinely, Barnie.

Cheers Steve. Terrarium culture seems to be working, it's in a home made "Biorb-air".so I repeated the set up for some masdys and a Barbosella.
Just had another look and crossed me toes as-well. :D

Cheers Ian, I'm Happy. Think there's another one on the opposite side.

Yep
you have a spike be careful you do not damage the end or let it damp off.

Looking at the size of the plant you will probably get more than one spike. This is a Dracula I have not got so will be interested to see photo when it flowers.

Cheers Malcolm, got 3 spikes so far,I'm maintaining my culture, recent reading says" do not alter your growing conditions".
so re: "Damping off" as in the classic horticultural term- cool + damp = phytophthora-pythium kind of damping off?
Best way to avoid this -good air movement etc?
Please advise, Barnie.
