I was given some cymbidium seed of a cross that has the potential to produce some lovely offspring ( Memoria Anna Leong x Finger of Suspicion). I sowed the seed in Feb of this year and for a long time nothing happened. Eventually I did get some germination and have managed to grow 5 protocorms in a total of 3 flasks. By any standards this is a woeful germination rate but it does have the advantage of giving the little seedlings plenty of room to grow on

My guess is that I left the seed too long in the hydrogen peroxide when I sterilized it and ended up killing the majority of the seed.

Here you can see one of the flasks with its single lonely occupant!

Dry orchid seeds sterilization will have an adverse on many of the seeds being sterilized in the disinfecting -solution.
It’s great that you do have germination.

Don't be to hard on yourself Terry. One is better than none after all. I have yet to successfully pollinate anything let alone germinate the result!

At least you have the strongest of the bunch. I hope it turns out to be the prettiest too!
