I have noticed loads of posts on OB using TapaTalk. It's a great app. I haven't noticed the issues you say Rob, maybe I will now but I haven't been aware at all. Like I said I see the gallery as seperate anyway as they are in no way really joined anyway so just catch up when I can.

I haven't had any problems with it either.

Rob: I think making the forum unavailable to tapatalk users would be a big mistake. First off, Tapa is easy to use, and secondly, like I said, I found this forum through Tapa, and I'm pretty sure more people have - and that more people will. But if it's not secure, I definitely see your point.

I apologise for any inconvenience caused to anyone, but Tapatalk is now uninstalled from the site.

It might get put back at a later date. For now, it won't.

Thanks!

Darn, that's a shame as I used it a lot, everyday when out and about. I will have to get my fix in other ways and catch up when at home when I can.

I don't rely on Tapatalk. I use it occasionally. I see a lot of posts on Orchid Board with a TapaTalk signature, but there could be even more because you can turn off the give-away signature (I have).

To be honest this is the first time I see a flaw in the whole thing of keeping photo posts separate. It's different to other forums and I've tried not to be biased in my view when some have expressed dislike of it. However even though I use Tapatalk rarely I can see this as the sort of genuine concern people using the forum would have over that way setting things up.

I don't know how many people on this forum used Tapatalk, removing the access will barely inconvenience me, but I'm a dinosaur who still favours a PC/laptop over mobile devices. From what I'm told where I work (in IT) the world is going more an more towards mobile devices (Android and IOS) and away from Windows PC/Laptops.

I don't really know, as I say the way I use the forum it will hardly affect me, though I would probably like the option, so I can keep reading when staying away from home. The main time I use Tapatalk with Orchid Board is during the summer.

I found it a useful addition to the PC format. Made things more immediate. Sad to see it go.

In my view the future is all around mobile devices. What a monumental blunder by Microsoft to miss that. The younger ones I'm my family look at their phones & tablets at least fifty times more than their PC's.
Unless Tapatalk is detrimental in some way I would personally suggest to encourage all such utilities, or at any rate make them possible for those who want them.

I also really like my PC with its 27" screen that is a godsend for anything (photo)graphical. Does that make me a dinosaur too? No phone or tablet could ever remotely sub for that. But phones do have much more immediacy for most people.

Alec

PS I daren't say anything more about the Photo Boards or Rob might throw me out. Hopefully Rob will soon find a better way of formatting and integrating them.
