There's a thread like this on OrchidBoard.com, and I thought it was a great idea, so here goes. :D

I've bought the following:

Last week:
Miltonia
Burrageara Nelly Isler

This week (waiting for them in the mail) :
Calanthe Ceciliae Triplicata x Masuca hybrid
Otonsia Rhein Blue Baby
Laelia Dayana var. Coerulea
Laelia Purpurata var. Striata
Cattleya Maxima

The last three are from abroad (within the EU), while the rest has been bought from my favorite nursery. Can't wait to get them! :jumpy:

I am on an orchid diet at the moment.
Trying to get rid of a few to make some space!
I love your choice in plants though ;-)

What orchids have you got on offer Sordibub and how much are you selling them for? :)

I think I would get withdrawals like crazy if I went on such a diet. Good on you, though! And thank you! I love pink and purple, and most of my collection reflect that, but blue is also awesome. ;-)
Oh, and I have a single orange one as well (Odontoglossum Trilobum x Odontocidium Tiger Glow).

Last weekend my orchid society was disposing of the collection of someone who'd sadly died. I arrived late, so I think the best had already gone, and what was left was not in good condition, but I think most have a chance of living. I got:

Some unknown cymbidium seedlings (5 out of 6 appear to be dead of rot, the 6th has no roots but is just starting a new one so fingers crossed)
Iwanagara Apple Blossom (tatty looking but pretty healthy actually)
Bulbo Valley Isle Queen (no leaves but healthy looking pulbs and and a reasonable amount of healthy root visible, so a good chance)
Bulbo Elizabeth Anne Buckley (2 shriveled pulbs, one of them small, and one small root about a cm long. But it does have 2 new shoots so just might make it)
Trichopilia gracilis: (shrivelled, but I think I read they have a dry period, so hopefully will come out of it fine)

And a mystery plant... Maxillaria or Ceologyne have been sugested, I'm tending towards the latter, but thoughts welcome.

Hi Tereskova,

The orchids I am getting rid of are mostly unnamed ones. People would not want to buy them so I am giving them to friends.
I do have a decent size Bulbo. Elizabeth Ann 'Buckleberry' that I am giving up on. I will put it up in the 'for sale' section once I figure out how much postage would cost :P

I bought a lot of cattleyas last autumn and, of course, I haven't seen them flower yet so I am REALLY, REALLY looking forward to that this autumn (well, the ones that are flowering size). They are...

Brassiolaeliocattleya Ann Cleo
Brassiolaeliocattleya Chia Lin 'New City'
Brassiolaeliocattleya Taiwan Queen 'Golden Monkey'
Cattleya maxima
Cattleya dowiana
Cattleya gaskelliana
Cymbidium speciosum (pot luck, unidentified seedling)
Dendrobium spectabile
Laelia tenebrosa
Cattleya warneri ('Donna Lourdes' x self)

Also, a friend, due to personal circumstances, decided not to keep vandas any more. He gave me a load of vandas and some dehydrated catts too (obviously his heart was with the vandas). So now I'm growing vandas :P
Yeah, I really have enough for the moment :D
PS I love orange!

Congrats on those! :D I'm considering starting to grow Vandas as well - I've been promised a spot in our greenhouse (I live in an assisted living facility that doubles as an organic farm - we have a few greenhouses for veggies and fruits), and Vandas have been suggested to me for this spot. :)

I have just turned green. LOL

I actually have a flask of Phal violacea Red Norton x Malaysian Blue, so shouldn't really be envious, but it's going to be a while before I get to see flowers on them...

Shock horror! The local garden centre has started to stock the Dutch grown cypripediums. My wife brought a couple came home last night, and now I will start to play the game. Wait until they have finished flowering and see if I can pick up some bargains.

Just bought a Dendrobium signatum, we like to grow stuff we have seen in the wild and recently photographed one of these at 1500m alt. Got one today at local orchid society show.

I got 4 new plants yesterday at Laurence Hobbs open weekend:

Mascevallia civilis
Neofinetia falcate
Paphiopedilum primulinum
Phalaenopsis schilleriana

The Phallie was a freebie. He had bought the stock from one of the Taiwanese traders at the Orchid London Show. Some stuff came with no labels. These Phallies were non-labelled, and he had just put a sticker with 'Phalaenopsis' and selling them at next to no money. I pointed out to him what they were and he gave me one as a present.

I only went to say hi as I have not been to an open weekend in ages. I had no intentions of buying anything at all! :-)
Francis
