I live in: United Kingdom (England)
My nearest city or region is: Harrow

I would like to share pics of my Orchidarium which has been up and running for around six months. ... hoto-1.JPG ... hoto-2.JPG ... hoto-3.JPG ... hoto-4.JPG ... hoto-5.JPG

This hobby has interested me since I was a kid and I have now decided to take it more seriously to attempt to achieve a really nice presentation, in the hope that at most times of the warmer months of the year I have a colourful display (blooms). A work in progress, looks a bit industrial at the moment.

I use RO Water and a variety of ferts including Akernes Rain Mix and BioBizz (yes, I know!)

This is the current stock, most purchased from Malaysia, a weird and wonderful selection, there are more coming;

* = Blooming/Flowering

Acriopsis Indica
Aerides Falcata
Aerides Flabellata (V. Gold Friendship x Chaopraya Emerald)
Brassavola David Sander
*Brassavola Nodosa
Brassolaelia Yellow Bird
Bulbophyllum Concinnum
Bulbophyllum Graveolens
Bulbophyllum Longissimum
Bulbophyllum Macranthum
Cattleya Blc. Copper Queen
Cattleya Blc. Hawaiian Passion
Cattleya Slc. Final Touch
Cattleya x Brassavola C. Intermedia x B. Perinii
Dendrobium Bracteosum
*Dendrobium Trinervium
Eurychone Rothschildiana
Mericyllium Trinasutum
Paphiopedilum Maudiae
Phalaenopsis <no id>
Phalaenopsis <no id>
Phalaenopsis Bellina
Phalaenopsis Bellina Alba
*Phalaenopsis Lioulin Orange
Phalaenopsis Peacock
Phalaenopsis Purple Martin x Doritis Pucherima "Blue"
Restrepia Trichoglossa
Rodridenia Woonleng
Vanda Mimi Palmer
Vandopsis Lissichiloides

I've had a few losses but having sorted out bugs (Mealy) and the humidity/temperature they seem really happy. The warm weather definitely promotes growth. The lighting is an ATI SunPower with 3 x Veg bulbs and 1 x flower – all 39w T5's. I am also thinking about placing an under tank heat supply to raise the temps a bit more.
