Here's a video I made of the orchids I currently have in flower.
The dialogue is for my non-orchid friends so may be a bit obvious for this forum.
Anyway, it's here for whoever wants a look.

Fascinating video Rachel, very nicely done. Always interesting to see how people are actually keeping their plants. Some really nice plants there, two that really catch my eye are the Vanda and the Oncidium.

Thank you, Alec.
It always amazes me as to why people get rid of their plants when they start to reach a decent size.
I think very often plants only begin to look good when they reach a certain size.
I understand people get bored and, don't get me wrong, I get bored with certain plants too and pass them on.
For example, the oncidium pictured was given to me by a friend a few years back when it got too big for her house (so lucky me!).
Many of my other friends, seeing mine, have gone out and bought their own (they know it's a long wait before I'll divide lol).
But then they are disappointed because they get one spray of flowers on a small plant and it really makes no statement at all.
In spring I will repot that oncidium in the same pot but with fresh mix but I'm not dividing just yet...

Can you believe, when I was first offered that oncidium I said "no thanks, I have enough oncidiums!"
What a mistake that would have been! :laughing-rollingyellow:

What very nice comments! Aren't you all so kind!
I made the video for my friends, who know little about orchids, so I debated for a while before deciding to put it up here.
It would be lovely to see someone else's video some time!

Lovely video Rachel, I've definitely just added some new species to my wish list. Thanks for sharing.

How do you keep your Phrag. Pinocchio if you don't mind me asking? I purchased one last year from a show a year ago now but I've seen no real new growth from it even though it had a seven flower spike when purchased.

Hi Jen,

I don't find this plant difficult. I keep it on a north north/east aspect and water/feed once a week. Mine has been repotted since this video and is making new growth but hasn't sent up any new flower spikes yet.
