My nearest city or region is: London
This is a picture of an orchid growing outside in someone's garden in South Africa. Looks like a Cattleya (or related) to me, but I am hardly an expert, so any help would be much appreciated.

My nearest city or region is: cambridge
It is a sobralia. No idea of the species or it could be a hybrid.
The flowers are very short lived and the plants can get very large,

A photo of the front of the flower, would help greatly, side shots can help but frontal is needed.
