I like growing a few other things with my Mediterranean orchids, and picked up some bulbs of this South African stunner last autumn. Each bulb has two buds on them at the moment. The colour is sensational, all satiny in the sunshine in real life.

Rob, if I were walking around and saw that, I couldn't ignore such an amazing sight.

They look stunning but the flower substance (at least in your pic) makes me think the blooms will last only a few days.

Around 7-10 days per flower at the moment, with the various flowers in succession on the same bulb and between bulbs of probably around 3 weeks. The flowers open flatter than my first pic eventually.

(and I'm only posting a pic to test whether facebook now shows the pic there! :P )
