Just as I think that there can't be any more patterns/colours of the Noids, another one comes along.
Haven't seen this pattern/colour combination in a large flowered Phal before so had to get it, at only £15.

Haven't seen one quite like that either Steve. Great find.

......and another one, colours a bit better/richer in "real life", pale pink with a light burnt orange lip.

Totally different from your first in terms of colour but this has an interesting shape to it.

.................and another one !

There were two of these in the Supermarket a couple of weeks ago but I ignored them determined not to keep buying Phal Noids.
They had disappeared the following day but then I saw this single one yesterday so I picked it up (before anyone else could).
I liked this one for its distinct colour and clear markings.

A very nice colour Steve and the substance of the petals seems very heavy from the pics. Another good buy!

Thanks Terry.
Unless its my HID lights throwing out the colouring in my photos, I'll have to get a new camera !
This does look better in real-life, a darker maroon and not so "shiny-plasticky" (if you know what I mean) :?

A few more flowers opened now, looking more striking, I like the contract between the dark colour and pure white lip.

I saw this one in the Supermarket a couple of days ago, thought about it and put it back (no room) then went home, half hour later went back to the Supermarket and bought it.
The flower isn't particularly large and the colour is a very ordinary pastel pink, but the thing that really appealed to me was its branching habit.
It looked good in the clear celophane wrapper but even better when I removed that to let its branches free.
It reminds me of something from a Japanese painting and the nearest thing I've ever got to the branching of a schilleriana.
Schilleriana could be in there somewhere, had a look at its leaves but no mottling there.

You do realise that you have a serious addiction forming! noidphalitis or something similar! Still they do give a great variety of shapes and colours.

I think you're right Terry, I've definitely got something !

Right about the great variety too, if Phal hybrids are your thing, you could have a large varied collection, the new hybrids appearing each week seem to be never-ending.

I'm not even going to bother making excuses about buying another Noid
Went to the Garden Centre today, just for garden plants, but this is the only Phal which jumped out at me (Orchids are by the Check-Out).
It wasn't staked very well but its the markings which attracted me, 7 large flowers, 5 maturing buds and only £8.50 !

Now that one has very interesting patterning. When I saw the flower colouration at first I thought it was a Vanda, obviously not when I looked again!

Yes, you're right Terry, it does look very Vanda-like, that's probably what attracted me because I've seen many Phal Noids with various blotches & markings, but none as neat and clear as this one.

Hi Steve!

Amazing color! It's a great find at a bargain price! Nobody blaming you to take it home... Can't wait to see it in full bloom!

I love the super branching Phalaenopsis as well!

Thank you Esther ! :D

I only found out a couple of days ago whilst re-potting it, that the dark purple Phal has a very slight scent to it, but you have to put your nose right up close to detect it.

Hi Steve!

It looked familiar and it looks just like a hybrid called Kaoda Twinkle"Chocolate Drop".

Another great find!!! Lucky you!

(Hm, I am just wondering what your family is saying about your orchid addiction?)
