Hello everyone,

I need some cultural advises regarding Phalaenopsis schilleriana. How do you grow yours?
I know it seems an easy species... and it probably is, since I've seen huge plants full of flowers, but somehow until now I've always "managed" to kill mines :(

Now I decided to give it a try once again, so your experience would be of a great help to me.

Thank you,
Dana

I grow mine in a clear pot in orchiata, (about 1-2cm size chunks) on a warm north east facing windowsill. It is slightly sensitive to overwatering when the roots aren’t actively growing in my experience, so the clear pot helps. I feed with rain mix at every watering.

Hello Dana!
Our Phal. schilleriana is cultivated in leca.
During winter we keep her in the greenhouse with high amounts of humidity and water her 2-3 times per week.
In the summer we open the greenhouse for natural air circulation and we water her every day as the humidity is very low.
The lowest temperatures that she has been exposed is 8 Celsius degrees and the highest 40-41.
At present she is blooming and we are looking forward to posting photos in the near future :D

Thank you very much, to both of you.
...so you grow them in pots, not mounted... I was thinking to mount mine, but... I'm not very sure it is a good idea.
