So unlike the large flowered Noids we are so used to that this seems to be like a totally different species, I like this for that reason.
I have parishii, another similar small white flower also with a bit of colour to the lip and can recommend that if you like the small flowered phals too.

Hi Steve!

Yes, absolutely, thought it is nothing wrong with the supermarket Phal's (I happened to own a good few of them) it is very refreshing to see a slightly different shape...and absolutely different size!

This is the parishii var. lobbii (I didn't know myself it is a var. until I just googled it a few minutes ago , came with the phal lobbii "label"), but after seeing the first few flowers (thought nothing extraordinary, super colorful) I am completely in love! I am definitely going to put the parishii on my wish list.. thankfully these tiny beauties don't need much space!
Thank you for your recommendation!

I am a windowsill grower, living in a 3rd floor apartment, so space is a HUGE issue for me...

I do have a pair Phalaenopsis (Sedeira) japonica and a pair of the bastianii from the minis (with similar flowers like mariae)... Also a pair of the Mini Mark, thought they do look like giants compared to to the lobbii, they are mini in the name only ... Not to talk of the monster Sweet memory Liodoro (I guess I have a mild Phalaenopsis addiction...)

Kind regards,

Esther

I don't know why I'm always a bit "sniffy" about Supermarket Noids (probably just the masses of bog-standard ones) because every now & then I always come across one which goes straight into my shopping trolley.
We must have a similar taste in Phals because all those you've mentioned (Liodora, Bastianii & Mini Mark ) I've either had or flagged-up for possible future purchases (when I can find room !)

I know what you mean ...

Can't pass beside them in the shops without having a good look at them...and yes... I know about the sneaky ones you just have to buy.

Orchid Garden in Poland had a good selection of Phal's around Christmas time... I went over the top and treated myself to a good few of them using the excuse that my birthday happened to be in December...(I only had good experience with them, so placed several orders)

I will make a list later... not to brag... but need to update my wish list... We have an Orchid Fair this weekend (most likely nothing than you are used to in the UK) and want to go prepared and try to stick to the list...

Also I am happy to trade those I have more than one

Thank you!

I definitely going to follow Steve's recommendation and add a parishii to the "collection"... sooner or later.

And this will make the list too

You will certainly enjoy both those miniatures Plant lady. :D
The Phal. Anna-Larati Soekardi 'Floribunda' is a primary cross from two wonderful parents and Phal.parishii is a beautiful fragrant species.

Hi Steve!

This is not my wish list...

This is what I have at the moment...and the number behind some of them means I have more than one

I did mention that I went a bit over the top after Christmas and have a mild Phal addiction ???

Yes, Mannii is definitely on the wish list!!!

And so is Mariae and Javanica... I bought them, but they came frozen and could not save them... The Mini Mark's and Corning's Violet also arrived damaged, so did the KS Happy Eagle, but these are doing well.

I will NEVER order plants when the weather is cold/ unpredictable!!! (I got so much to learn...)

Sorry Esther, my mistake, you mentioned earlier about updating your WishList, I thought that was it
That's quite a varied collection....and still growing !
Agree about obtaining plants during the cold period, it's a bit of a gamble even though some Nurseries offer insulated packaging, but when you see something and really want it.......

Good morning, Steve!

Yes, I am quite proud of the little Phal collection... I will see if I manage to meet their needs and if they will do well in the coming years. I am a bit afraid that they will claim more and more room as they grow, but I should be fine for a while now...

With many other species, you just divide it if it gets to big and share it with friends...or just let it do it's own thing and get a "best in show" in the next orchid fair

I'm looking at the last existing place in the apartment without any plant, the laundry room...It has a huge northeast facing window, I think it got great potential
