I tried one of the commercial ones but is covered in coir fibres which just done hold water. So im looking for inspirational ideas for making one that will stay moist easily. Was thinking allong the lines of conduit wrapped in capilliary matting, then covered in sphag moss, also toying with the idea of sing round oasis bricks etc.

Anyone got any other ideas?

(i have a few rambling plants that need to grow up a branch etc...)

Other than getting chicken wire, bending it into a tube and stuffing it with sphagnum moss......

That would work but i want something a bit easier to keep moist without frequent spraying. Maybe a central tube as a resevoir for example, with capilliary matting to draw the water out.

I'm thinking of similar methods myself, maybe involving a wick of capillary matting up the centre and a reservoir at the bottom. I would have thought the sphagnum moss would wick perfectly well by itself if there is a resevoir.

Have you tried pipe insulation, you can use floral pins to hold moss in position, it comes in different lengths and diameters grey or white
